Until recently, Saffelberg Castle was still owned by the Van Oldeneel family. However, in 2007 Saffelberg Investments bought the castle, which was in dire need of renovation. Over a period of almost five years, the castle was restored in every detail and regained its former historical glory of yesteryear. The castle was transformed into the centre of a sizeable company, Saffelberg Investements. Today, the company has its offices in this beautifully restored castle in Gooik.
'In the history of Saffelberg, we have also bought up some old farms and properties in the region and renovated them. Those properties usually include land, pastures or agricultural land.
